We believe that today’s investors are making the connection between a company’s commitment to environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles and its ability to create sustainable value and reduce risk whenever possible. We also believe our ESG performance has positive implications for the environment, the communities we live and work in, and the future of Molpus Woodlands Group (Molpus). That’s why Molpus has become a signatory to the United Nations-supported Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI). 

Molpus incorporates ESG policies and practices into investment analysis and decision-making. We also recognize the importance of land-based solutions and healthy forests in climate change mitigation and carbon sequestration.

Molpus uses key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and quantify our ESG progress.

Environmental Performance

Molpus counts the number of trees planted and Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI) certified acres under management, conservation easements, carbon mitigation projects, and more in order to measure our Environmental Performance.

Social Performance

Our social performance is measured by our respect for indigenous peoples’ rights and traditional forest-related knowledge, the percentage of our workers trained on safety measures and sustainable forestry and harvesting, our diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives, and more.

Governance Performance

We measure our ESG performance in governance at the property manager level and devote ourselves to monitoring their compliance with SFI and FSC standards.

Forest Certification

All of our forest assets are certified to the SFI Forest Management Standard, which is recognized by the globally recognized Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC).

Community Investment

Molpus serves our local communities by using local vendors and service providers. Our employees are encouraged to be actively involved by participating in community events, associations, and boards.

Heritage Stewardship

Molpus Woodlands Group is dedicated to being an active steward of Mississippi’s historic sites through our restoration projects.

Supporting Education

Molpus supports education through the Dick Molpus Foundation, our annual forestry scholarship, and internship opportunities.
